The Ikon Recovery Center College & University Scholarship helps students pursuing degrees in psychology, social work, counseling, addiction studies, and other related fields. By offering this award, we aim to ease the financial burden of higher education and encourage meaningful discussions on substance use and recovery. We look forward to supporting the next generation of leaders in addiction treatment and mental health care!

Should Social Media Platforms Censor Content That Glorifies Addiction?

  • Social media often glamorizes drinking and substance use, influencing young audiences and normalizing risky behavior. Supporters argue that platforms should remove or flag harmful content to protect impressionable users. Opponents believe this could limit free expression and prevent open discussions about recovery. Should platforms enforce stricter policies, or is education a better solution?

  • Winners grant Ikon Recovery Center the right to use their essay content for contest promotion, marketing, and publication, including the use of winners’ names and identifying details.
  • Only essays submitted by the deadline will be judged; late entries will not be accepted or reviewed.
  • Scholarship awards may be revoked if an entrant is later found ineligible or violates contest rules.
  • Any federal, state, or local taxes on prizes are the responsibility of the winners.
  • All submitted essays become the property of Ikon Recovery Center and may be used or reproduced.
