Recent data from the NJ ROIC-Drug Monitoring Initiative for the first half of 2024 indicates a 39 percent decrease in overdose deaths in Camden County compared to the same period last year.[1] Additionally, there has been a notable reduction in Naloxone administrations: from January to June 2023, there were 851 Naloxone administrations in Camden County, while the same timeframe in 2024 saw a decrease to 511 administrations.

The trend in fatal overdoses continues to improve as well, with 326 drug-related deaths reported in 2023, down from 354 in 2022.[2] However, there are many more in our community who still need help accessing quality addiction (and dual diagnosis) treatment services.
