Amanda Herzig is a master’s-level group facilitator dedicated to supporting individuals with substance use and mental health challenges through compassionate, evidence-based care. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University and holds a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Saint Joseph’s University.
Her clinical experience includes addiction treatment, community mental health, forensic case management, and juvenile justice. Amanda utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) within a trauma-informed, person-centered framework. Prior to joining Ikon, she held roles in case management, diversion services, adolescent counseling, and domestic violence advocacy, providing crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and resource coordination.
Amanda is passionate about advocacy and juvenile justice and serves on the Sussex County Juvenile Justice Commission. She has presented research at the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychology-Law Society (APLS). Her long-term goal is to provide specialized mental health care for justice-involved youth.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and continuing her professional development.
